• How do SPB and PRP differ?

PRP is the abbreviation for Platelet Rich Plasma. Essentially, the SPB method is a PRP method. SPB is the trade name of a technology in PRP therapy.

• Can SPB generate the growth of cancer cells? 

No! The SPB method cannot generate cell mutations, because platelet-derived growth factors are not carcinogenic.

• Is laser SPB more efficient than normal SPB?

No, the efficiency of the SPB laser procedure is not demonstrated. Essentially, laser use cannot significantly enhance the effect of platelet-rich plasma injection. Instead, it significantly increases the cost of the procedure.

• Does the SPB method use stem cells?

No, the essence of the method is to inject platelet-rich plasma obtained from the patient’s blood. Plasma does not contain any chemical preparations or stem cells.

• Have there been any clinical trials of the SPB method?

Yes, clinical trials have been carried out for over 8 years and in some areas of medicine they are still being done.

• If the patient does not know that he/she is infected with HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis and undergoes the SPB procedure, what could be the consequences? 

Nothing wrong will happen, and the existence of these infections will not adversely affect the effectiveness of the procedure. SPB is safe for both the patient and the doctor because there is no direct contact with the blood (neither from the doctor nor from the patient). The plasma is kept in sterile vacuum tubes and has no direct contact with the environment.

• Is there a risk of infection (HIV, syphilis, herpes, hepatitis) during the SPB procedure?

No, because the blood used for plasma separation is collected from the patient himself, not from someone else. All tools and consumables are disposable and recycled after the procedure.

• What medical tests should be performed before the procedure starts?

Prior to the procedure, the so-called minimum set of preoperative tests will be performed. The physician is required to study clinical blood tests, biochemical blood tests, and blood tests for markers of infectious diseases (HIV, hepatitis, syphilis, etc.).

• What are the contraindications to the SPB procedure? 

SPB is contraindicated for severe and systemic diseases. The contraindications are determined individually, and more detailed information about them can be found during the medical consultation.

• Are the results visible after a single SPB procedure?

Yes, but not always. In approximately 40% of cases, patients notice the positive effect after the first procedure. When performing repeated procedures (the full treatment has 4 sessions), the effect becomes much more visible. 

• How often can the treatment be repeated?

In order to get the best result, the procedures must be repeated twice a year. The effect of the treatment can be maintained for up to 2 years. But, of course, it all depends from patient to patient.

• Can SPB deplete the body's resources?

No, it cannot. Only a few milliliters of blood are taken from the patient, which is then injected back, slightly modified. Therefore, the body does not feel any loss, and after the procedure, the patient’s health is not affected.

• How many procedures are there in the recommended treatment course?

On average, the course consists of 4 procedures, with a 7 to 10 - day interval between them.

• Is the procedure mandatory on an empty stomach?

Yes, it is advisable.

• What are the recommendations after the SPB procedure (recovery period)?

There are no special recommendations. But it’s desirable for the patient to lead a healthy lifestyle afterward.

• Does the SPB procedure require anesthesia?

Not always. It all depends on the patient’s level of sensitivity. In most cases, the procedure is painless, so it does not require anesthesia.

• What does plasma plastic surgery mean?

Plasma plastic surgery has nothing to do with SPB, so we cannot provide you with information about the effects and indications of this procedure.

• What does plasma therapy mean?

Plasmotherapy is a method of treatment based on blood vessel injection of plasma, from donated blood; it is used for parenteral feeding, compensation of blood, or plasma losses, and stopping blood circulation. The SPB method is radically distinct from plasma therapy, it has other purposes, it’s done differently and it uses only the patient’s own blood.

• Why can't SPB be performed during pregnancy and lactation?

Because of the principle of pregnancy intervention. It is very likely that pregnancy and lactation are not contraindications for the procedure, but there have been no studies on pregnant women.

• Are there any guarantees for the SPB treatment results (face, hair, eyelashes, eyebrows, breasts, decolletage, gums, dental implants)?

Efficiency is 60 – 80% because in medicine it’s very difficult to talk about guarantees. To achieve a durable result, it is recommended to follow a treatment course consisting of 4 procedures. We must not forget about the individual particularities of each patient.

• Will I have bruises after the plasma injections?

Rarely, but they can occur, the same as after mesotherapy

• Can SPB be done in the summer?

• Yes. It’s even recommended! SPB is an effective method of fighting photo-aging, it diminishes the harmful effects of solar radiation. We recommend treatment both before and after you go on vacation, especially if the patient is prone to pigmentation or sunburn.

• How do I know if the SPB procedure is indicated for face rejuvenation?

You should go to your doctor and find out.

• Is a clean face mandatory before the SPB procedure?

Not always. This is an individual aspect that is determined by the doctor, during the consultation.

• What other cosmetic procedures can be combined with SPB?

The SPB method can be combined with all aesthetic medicine procedures: chemical peels, laser, fractional photo thermolysis, photo-rejuvenation, fillers, radiofrequency lifting, botulinum toxin, classical mesotherapy, preparation for plastic surgery in postoperative periods, recovery after medium and deep peelings.

• Can SPB of the face, hair, and eyelashes be performed in a single procedure?

Yes, it’s possible. There are no contraindications to this effect. Platelet plasma injections will be performed in different affected areas.

• Are 2 procedures for facial rejuvenation sufficient?

2 procedures are the minimum for obtaining a visible result. The SPB effect is cumulative, that is, it intensifies from one procedure to the next. The standard treatment course consists of 4 procedures.

• Is it true that SPB can treat alopecia (hair loss), regardless of the causes of the disease?

SPB does not treat 100% of all types of alopecia, but the effectiveness of the procedure is 60 – 80%, which is a big percentage. Medicine cannot offer 100% guarantees. SPB is one of the most effective methods in the world when it comes to hair loss. There are virtually no other alternatives to this method.

• Can I become SPB-dependent? What will happen if I stop the plasma injections?

No way! This procedure does not create addiction. If the patient cannot or does not wish to perform the treatment repeatedly, there will be no negative effects. Cells gradually (very, very slowly) return to their original state, meaning they lose the “youthful” boost and work as usual.

• If the result is even better as the patient's age is lower, does that mean that SPB will not help those who really need to get rid of wrinkles? How old does one have to be for SPB to stop being effective? 

No, it does not mean that. Patients with more pronounced wrinkles and atrophy of soft tissues need treatment courses of 6, not 4 procedures. On average, the method produces results until the age of 75.

• How long after the procedure does the hair start to grow?

The end of hair loss is already noticed after the first procedure. A visible result can be expected after approximately half a year.

• How long will I wait until my eyelashes start growing?

2 to 3 months.

• I had 2 SPB procedures to fiht hair loss. The fall has ceased. How long will the effect of the procedure last?

From 6 months to 2 years. It all depends on the individual particularities of the body.

• Can SPB smooth wrinkles?

The SPB method is very effective for small wrinkles (around the eyes). Deep wrinkles become less pronounced.

• Can SPB become an alternative to bio-revitalization? Which of these procedures is better?

Yes, it can. Which procedure is better? SPB: it’s natural and it has a complex action, solving many problems at the same time.

• Which procedure is better? SPB or mesotherapy?

These procedures are totally different, with different purposes, so they cannot be compared.

• Does the SPB help in lifting and stretching the skin?

Yes, but not more than 2 – 3 mm. The SPB method especially helps improve skin conditions: color, hydration level, elasticity, etc.

• Is SPB enough for skin rejuvenation or should it be combined with other procedures?

The complex action is, of course, always more effective: it intensifies the effect of the SPB procedure.

• Is SPB dangerous in the neck and breast area?

No, it’s not dangerous. SPB does not affect the hormonal status and does not cause mutations. This procedure is aimed at improving the health of the skin and rejuvenating it.

• It is not recommended to perform the procedure during menstruation?

No, for that you need plastic surgery.

• How long after the lactation period can I undergo an SPB procedure?

It is recommended to perform the procedure after 4 to 6 months.

• Can the SPB method guarantee the success of the dental implant procedure? How many procedures are needed?

Yes. For dental implants, SPB stimulates osteointegration (implantation) of the implant and reduces the time required for it. In addition, platelet-rich plasma inhibits the possible rejection of the implant. On average, 2 procedures are necessary in this case

• How long does it take for SPB to treat periodontitis?

The duration of the effect is different for each patient. On average, we’re talking about 1 year, but it can be even longer.
